I arrived just as darkness was beginning to fade. The temple stood in silence, its ancient structure outlined against the early morning sky. There were no crowds, no distractions, and no rush. It was simply a peaceful moment.The rising sun emerged from behind the trees, sending beams of light through the branches and illuminating the temple surroundings. For a few minutes, everything seemed to stand still.

A Single Flame in the Silence

As I walked through the ancient temple corridors, my attention was drawn to a small oil lamp burning quietly in a dark stone alcove.

There was nothing grand about it. No crowd gathered around it, no elaborate decorations, and no sound beyond the silence of the temple walls. Yet, the gentle flame seemed to illuminate more than the space around it.

Standing there, I was reminded that not everything meaningful needs to be loud or prominent. Sometimes the most powerful presence comes from the simplest things. A small flame can brighten a dark corner, just as a simple act of kindness can brighten someone’s day.

The stone walls around the lamp have witnessed countless prayers and generations of devotees. Through the passage of time, the flame continues to burn, carrying forward a tradition of faith, hope, and devotion.

As I left, the image stayed with me. Not because of its size or brilliance, but because it served as a quiet reminder that even the smallest light can make a difference.

Preserving History for Future Generations

During my visit, I noticed that renovation work was still underway. Parts of the temple tower were covered with scaffolding, a reminder that even centuries-old places of worship need constant care and preservation.

While the ongoing restoration slightly changed the view, it was encouraging to see efforts being made to protect this historic temple for future generations. Beneath the scaffolding, the intricate carvings and vibrant colors still reflected the beauty and craftsmanship that have drawn devotees and visitors here for generations.
