Dear Appa, Nine Years Later… I Have So Much to Tell You ❤️

Dear Appa,

Nine years.

Sometimes I still wonder how nine years have passed so quickly. So much has happened since you left us, and there are still moments when I wish I could just pick up the phone and talk to you.

Tell you about my day. Share something funny. Ask for your opinion. Or simply hear your voice again.

I still remember your witty comments and how you used to make us laugh. And how you would comfort us whenever things weren’t going well.

Those little things stay with me, Appa.

A few years ago, I wrote something about you. It had been 2,101 days since you left us. And here I am again, nine years later, still wanting to tell you so many things.

So Much Has Happened, Appa ❤️

I completed my MBA. 🎓

Yes, I did it.

It wasn’t always easy, but I made it through. I really wish you could have been there to share the moment with me.

Would you have smiled? Made one of your witty comments? Or given me some advice? 😂

But beyond the qualification, there’s something more important I want you to know. I believe I’ve become a better person.

I’m still learning, still making mistakes, and still figuring things out. But I’ve grown, Appa.

A Name I Carry With Pride

Thanabaalasingam Torai Raja.

Everywhere I go, I carry your name with me. On an identification card, a certificate, or a document, it’s there.

It’s a connection to you. A part of you that continues with me wherever life takes me.

I may not always get everything right, But I hope the way I live and the way I treat people will make you proud.

That means more to me than any title or achievement.

The Memories We Have ❤️

Looking at our old family photographs always brings back memories. The familiar faces. The smiles. Those moments when everyone was together.

At the time, we probably didn’t realise how precious those ordinary moments would become.

I also love looking at that photograph of you holding our little furry friend. Just a simple photograph, but it brings back memories of you.

Your humour. Your advice. The way you could make us laugh even on an ordinary day.

Those are things I miss.

Nine Years Later…

I’m working, travelling, learning, and exploring new places. I’ve met people and reached milestones I once only hoped for.

And there are still days when life gets confusing, and I wonder what advice you would have given me.

I think of you in the middle of ordinary days too. When something reminds me of you, or when I simply wish I could have one more conversation with you.

If I could sit with you today, I think we’d have quite a lot to catch up on. ❤️

Until We Meet Again ❤️

Most importantly, I want you to know that I’m doing my best. To be a better person, and to carry your name with the respect and love it deserves.

I hope wherever you are, you’re at peace.

Thank you for the memories, the laughter, and the love that stays with us.

Until we meet again, Appa.

Your loving son,

Thanabaalasingam Torai Raja ❤️

Just here.

— Thana
