Sri Mangalanayaki Sametha Sri Mangalanadhar Thirukoil
I visited this temple during Mahasivarathri in 2025.
I was temple hopping, visiting a few Shivan temples during the trip. This was one of them.
I arrived just as it was getting light. It was quiet, and I had time to look around without rushing. Then the sun came through the trees. I stopped to watch the light fall across the temple surroundings. I’m glad I was there early enough to see it.

The Oil Lamp
As I walked through the ancient temple corridors, my attention was drawn to a small oil lamp burning quietly in a dark stone alcove.
I stopped to look at the small flame against the dark stone.
That lamp is one of the images I remember from the visit.

Renovation During My Visit
Renovation work was going on when I visited. Parts of the temple tower were covered with scaffolding.
I could still see the carvings and colours beneath it. I took a photo of that too. It’s part of how the temple looked when I was there.

There were a few more Shivan temples on this trip. I’ll share their names and those visits in upcoming posts.
For this one, I remember the early morning light, the oil lamp and having time to look around.
Just here.
