The Simple Family Moments I’d Relive Again

Thana and family celebrating Deepavali at Mum’s house

This photo was taken during Deepavali last year at Mum’s house.

We have a practice in our family. Every Deepavali, we take one family photo together.

It’s one of the celebrations when we come together as a family, so I like having a photo from each year.

Our morning starts with the traditions.

Wake up early. Have our traditional oil bath. Get blessings. Then visit the temple before starting the rest of our day.

That’s our Deepavali morning.

When I look at this photo, I remember all of that. Being at Mum’s house, going through the familiar rituals and spending the day together.

I take plenty of photos when I travel. But I’m glad we keep taking this one at home too.

One family photo, every Deepavali.

I’d happily relive that day. Have the same morning at Mum’s house, get our blessings, visit the temple and take another photo together.

Simply lovely. ❤️

Just here.
