Some places you visit because they are part of the journey. Some places you plan because someone tells you, “You should go there.” And then there are places you carry with you for years.
Vaitheeswaran Temple was one of those places for me.
Since 2024, I had wanted to come here. I had made a promise to visit and pray for someone close to me. For some reason, I wanted that prayer to be here, in front of Vaitheeswaran.
So when I finally arrived in August 2026, it was more than my first visit to another temple. I was there to keep my word.

The God of Healing
At Vaitheeswaran Koil, Lord Shiva is worshipped as Vaitheeswaran, the divine healer. That was part of why this place meant so much to me.

The temple was crowded. Really crowded. Devotees everywhere.
I remember looking at the crowd and wondering, Will I even get a chance to see him properly? I had waited since 2024. I didn’t ask for much. Just a few moments to pray.
Then Something Happened
As I was walking towards the sanctum, a priest called me. He asked me to come inside and sit near the door.
I wasn’t expecting that at all.
From where I sat, I was about 50 metres from Vaitheeswaran. I looked at him and got goosebumps. Then the tears came.
For about ten minutes, it felt like it was just me and him. I talked to him quietly. I told him my wishes and prayed for the person who had brought me here in the first place.
In a temple full of people, I had the time I thought I might not get. That was my first miracle that day.

And Then Came Blessing Number Two
Before I left, I met the temple elephant. It reached out with its trunk, touched my head and blessed me.

I couldn’t stop smiling. My first visit, and two moments I will carry with me for a long time.
Before I Left, I Made Another Promise
I went there with a prayer. I left feeling blessed and grateful that I had finally kept the promise I made in 2024.
I’ll try to come back every year. Not because I need another miracle each time. I just want to return to a place where I felt heard.
Thank you for the blessings. 🙏
I’ll try to see you again next year. 🛕❤️
