    ⏰ Approximately 2 hours

I decided to hike Bukit Senaling for one reason. I wanted to experience the famous sea of clouds, or as many hikers call it, the “carpet cloud.” To catch it, we had to start early. Very early. At around 4.30 in the morning, we began our climb in darkness, relying on our headlamps and determination.

What looked like a simple hike on paper turned into a challenging experience. It had rained previously, making parts of the trail muddy and slippery. The forest was dense. The trail felt endless at times. And there were moments when I questioned whether the climb was worth it.

Looking back now, I can laugh about one important lesson.

Always eat before a hike. πŸ˜„

But beyond that practical lesson, Bukit Senaling taught me something more important. There will be moments in life when the journey feels harder than expected. The conditions will not be perfect. The road may be muddy. The destination may seem far away. But if we keep moving forward, step by step, we eventually get there. That morning reminded me that perseverance often matters more than comfort. And sometimes the reward is not just the view. It is knowing that you refused to give up.

⛰️ Gunung Angsi: The Hike That Changed My Perspective

Gunung Angsi will always hold a special place in my memory. It was my first mountain hike. Before that day, hiking was simply something I was curious about. I had seen photos. I had heard stories. But I had never truly experienced a mountain climb for myself.

Standing at the base of Gunung Angsi, I remember feeling excited. But I also remember feeling uncertain. The mountain looked huge. The trail seemed long. And like many first-time hikers, I found myself wondering whether I could actually make it to the summit.

As the climb continued, the doubts slowly faded. I found myself surrounded by nature. Towering trees. Fresh air. Beautiful skies. And a sense of calm that is difficult to describe.

The higher I climbed, the more I realised that the biggest challenge was not the mountain itself. It was the voice inside my head. The voice that kept questioning whether I could do it. The voice that wanted certainty before effort. The voice that preferred comfort over challenge.

Reaching the summit did not just give me a beautiful view. It gave me confidence. It reminded me that many of the limits we believe in exist only in our minds. Sometimes we convince ourselves that something is impossible before we have even attempted it. Gunung Angsi taught me that growth begins when we stop listening to doubt and start trusting ourselves. It was never really about climbing a mountain. It was about discovering what I was capable of.

    Looking Back

Bukit Senaling taught me to keep going when the trail became harder than I expected. Gunung Angsi, my first mountain hike, taught me to give myself a chance before deciding I could not make it. I came home with photographs from both hikes, but I remember how I felt on those climbs just as clearly. πŸ₯ΎπŸŒΏβœ¨

A mountain never asks whether we are strong enough to climb it.

The real question is whether we believe we are.
